Cecilia Sterner

Cecilia Sterner (b. 1967, Lund) is a visual artist based in Malmö working with installation and performance. She holds an MFA from Malmö Art Academy, Sweden, and studied at San Francisco Art Institute, USA. People’s shortcomings, delusions, loss of memory and bewilderment at our failure to comprehend one another are common threads running through her work. It is a playful clash between the ugly, raw, dark, sophisticated and ludicrous at the same time – because the world is full of contradictions. In recent years she has exhibited at Bonderups konsthall, Galleri Box and Konstepidemin in Gothenburg and Lilith Performance Studio in Malmö.
