Eli Frankel is a swedish performer, curator and dramgurg. As a member of Alice Collective for Sound & Stage Art , he is working with research, choreography, poetry and music.
Eli creates performances together with PLX Society and Tjärö Island itself rather than present ready mades. He explores the relation between the artist, the environment and the audience through long duration performances.
“CANE MOLTO - AMORE FRATERNO TRA CANE E CANE” is the first part of a larger choral work for dancers and singers called THE CHOIR and made exclusive for PLX TJÄRÖ. It investigates the power of the choir and its function in musical and historical contexts. The choir structure is essential for all art forms like opera, literature, drama, popular music and parallels between football hooligans and the work of Ayschilos. In a societal context we talk about The collective (The choir) against the Individual (The Soloist). The aim is to find ourselfs in a community and in relation to the theory of Us and Them, Me and You. In order to survive we need to relate to other people have to change shapes or becoming a part of a bigger community.
